Bulletin N°56 avril 2025  "The Communist and Workers' Parties, co-signatories of this Joint Communiqué, wish to pay tribute to a great revolutionary and theoretician of scientific socialism, whose 155th birth anniversary is marked on April 22, Vladimir Ilyich Lenin .
The imperialist war, shedding the blood of the peoples of Ukraine and Russia, has been going on for over three years, while trade and economic wars and the militarization of capitalist economies are intensifying. These signs demonstrate the antisocial and parasitic nature of the capitalist system, facing a new crisis, the burden of which will once again be borne by the workers. They also demonstrate the aggressive nature of capitalism and the escalation of imperialist competition, which pose new dangers to peace and peoples. In these conditions, we feel an even greater need to refer to the historical figure of VI Lenin. A figure who dedicated his life to the cause of the working class and other popular strata, to the struggle for the abolition of exploitation, and to the construction of a socialist society.
We honor VI Lenin as the founder of the contemporary party of the working class , the "party of a new type," which was resolutely dissociated from the opportunism and apostasy of the old social-democratic parties. Such was the Bolshevik Party, which stood in the vanguard of the class struggle of the proletariat and other oppressed strata of Russia. Lenin's party used all forms of struggle according to circumstances, did not succumb to bans and persecutions, did not lose its ideological-political autonomy, and thus led the working class of Russia to victory, overthrowing the exploiting classes and establishing the dictatorship of the proletariat, the government of the workers and farmers, serving the interests of the majority, the exploited and oppressed. The above is also of paramount importance today, as we see a number of bourgeois regimes banning CPs, putting obstacles in the way of their activities, and even creating fake CPs. Their anti-communist actions will remain a dead letter! VI Lenin defined and documented the vanguard role of the Communist Party, not only in establishing workers' power, but also in building socialism.
We honor VI Lenin as a theoretician who, taking into account concrete reality, developed the constituent elements of Marxism, namely philosophy, political economy, and scientific communism. We also honor him as an opponent of any opportunist and revisionist distortion of revolutionary theory and practice, of dogmatism and parliamentary illusions, without denying intervention through parliament. His works, such as "What the Friends of the People Are and How They Fight the Social Democrats", "The Development of Capitalism in Russia", "What Is to Be Done?", "Two Tactics of Social Democracy in the Democratic Revolution", "Materialism and Empirio-Criticism", "Marxism and Revisionism", "The Bankruptcy of the Second International", "Socialism and War", "On the Slogan of the United States of Europe", "Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism", "The State and Revolution", "April Theses", "The Infantile Disease of Communism (Leftism)", "The Immediate Tasks of the Soviet Government" and "The Great Initiative" are landmarks in the spread and development of Marxism and revolutionary struggle. Lenin's valuable theoretical work is still relevant today and serves as a beacon for the education and ideological-political action of each new generation of revolutionaries.
The Leninist approach and analysis of imperialism , its distinctive features, which Lenin highlights in his work on capitalism in its highest and final stage, where monopolies dominate, are of enormous importance today. Lenin's work, which is particularly useful at a time when the struggle between the United States and China for supremacy in the world capitalist system is intensifying, opposes the identification of imperialism solely with an aggressive foreign policy or with a few powerful capitalist countries, a view that has been promoted over time by the forces of opportunism.
We honor VI Lenin as the leader of the Great October Socialist Revolution , which shook the world about a century ago. The victorious revolution highlighted the power of class struggle, the power of the exploited and oppressed—when they take it upon themselves to defend their interests and set the wheel of history in motion—on the path to social liberation. The flame of October guided and accelerated the creation of a number of communist parties and revolutionary workers' parties.
We honor VI Lenin as the leader of the world's first socialist state, which for the first time established workers' power on the basis of new revolutionary bodies, such as the soviets, and which sought to make society's economy function on a new basis, one based on meeting the contemporary needs of the people and the free and multidimensional development of all individuals, not the profitability of a few. The USSR, the world's first socialist state, which came to fruition thanks to the special contribution of VI Lenin, paved the way for unprecedented new economic, social, political, and cultural achievements for the working class and the wider popular strata, which had a profound effect on historical progressive developments throughout the world, by implementing the socialization of the means of production, central planning, and workers' control. It was the USSR, the Red Army, and the people, the communist-led partisan movements, that defeated fascism, the product of capitalism. This year, we will commemorate the 80th anniversary of this victory, rejecting the attempt by the bourgeois powers, which fought and still fight socialism, to usurp it. The USSR supported the peoples in the struggle for socialism and peace, illustrating that these two elements are inextricably linked. No "multipolar world," no new "global architecture" can guarantee peace and security for the peoples, despite the bourgeois powers' declarations on this subject, which the opportunists also reproduce. The solution lies in strengthening the class struggle for disengagement from imperialist unions, such as NATO, the EU, and others, against imperialist war and the "matrix" that gives rise to it, the capitalist system.
We honor VI Lenin as a great internationalist , the leader who raised the banner of proletarian internationalism against the treacherous attitude of the Second International during the First imperialist World War, opposed bourgeois nationalism and other bourgeois views such as the cosmopolitanism of capital, and led the creation of the Third Communist International , which made a major contribution to the international workers' and communist movement. Today, it is a fundamental source for drawing useful lessons from its accumulated experience. Lenin's positions on colonialism enabled communists to understand the question of colonies and inspired them to lead anti-colonial struggles, both in the colonizing countries and in the colonies.
We honor VI Lenin as a tireless and consistent opponent of imperialist war, defender of the people's struggle for their national and social liberation, social justice, peace and socialism.
Counterrevolution and capitalist restoration cannot conceal the achievements of socialism. The disasters and injustices we are experiencing, the acute problems and suffering of the working class , urban self-employed workers, farmers, and the people in general, in the face of capitalist exploitation and oppression, underline the necessity and urgency of socialism today throughout the world.
The Communist and Workers' Parties denounce to the workers and youth the attempt made throughout the world by political forces serving the interests of capital to silence the work of VI Lenin and to distort it in a reactionary and anti-communist manner. We denounce in particular the attempt by the bourgeoisies of Ukraine, Russia, and other countries that emerged from the dissolution of the USSR to demonize Lenin. We fight for the continuity of his work, we are committed to continuing to defend and propagate his legacy, and we call on the workers and people to draw lessons from it.
